Alright, so here’s the deal with John Wick Hex. Yep, it’s getting yanked from all digital storefronts starting July 17. Big Fan Games, the publisher, just went ahead and confirmed this, but hey, not much in terms of why. Maybe they just got bored? Anyway, this is, like, the only official game where you can pretend to be John Wick, running around trying to save Winston and Charon from this new baddie named Hex. Voices? Oh yeah, they’ve got Ian McShane and Lance Reddick doing their thing again. Troy Baker’s in there too, voicing Hex. But, you know, if you want it, better grab it soon. After that date? Nada on the new sales front.
Now, let’s switch gears a bit — oh wait, backtrack. So, the game first hit PCs and macOS way back in October 2019. Then, it jumped onto PS4, Xbox One, and even Nintendo Switch the very next year. Kind of like Wick himself, just dashing across platforms. Anyway, maybe it’s not as big as the movies — but I mean, how could it be, right? It’s got this cool comic book vibe going on, but some folks say the gameplay isn’t really all that, which is a bummer.
Fast forward again to this Steam announcement. If you have it already, breathe easy, it’s still there waiting for you in your library. Physical copies on consoles will keep spinning, but, you know, no new downloads after the curtain drops. Oh, and before it disappears, you can still snag it for $19.99 on all the big platforms. Kind of your last hurrah to actually own the thing.
But don’t get too down, okay? Turns out Lionsgate is cooking up a new AAA John Wick game. No real details yet — who knows, they could surprise us with something wild and fresh! Keep those fingers crossed. Meanwhile, there’s an animated prequel in the works, too, with Keanu Reeves and Chad Stahelski steering the ship. So, while Hex exits stage left, maybe there’s still some action left in the tank with all these upcoming projects. Stay tuned, I guess.
