I’m diving into this whole Pokemon TCG Pocket scene, and honestly, I might be more confused than a Jigglypuff trying to rap battle. Anyway, there’s this Eevee Grove set that’s been chilling for about two weeks. If you’re like me and already thinking about the next shiny thing, it’s probably time to stash away those precious Hourglasses for the upcoming set in July. Details are sketchy. We can just guess — maybe Gen 2, maybe Gen 3 critters (or not). What’s a girl to do?
Fighting cards, man, I swear they’ve been snoozing since the Triumphant Light. Not that I’m throwing shade on the existing ones; they have their charm. But let’s face it, they could use some shaking up. At the moment, there are mainly two fighting decks worth talking about. Space-Time Smackdown or Triumphant Light seem to be their ride-or-die choices. New cards? Meh, they haven’t rocked the boat much.
Now, Lucario Ex, sort of appeared, then ducked back into the shadows. Occasionally Passimian Ex or Lycanroc Ex peek out too. But it’s Rampardos and Garchomp Ex ruling the playground right now. Go figure.
Speaking of Rampardos, it’s like the golden child of Fighting cards or something. TCG aficionados love this thing since Space-Time Smackdown made its debut in January 2025. It’s a solid unit—150 HP and hits like a truck with 130 damage. It does hit back though, like 50 recoils if you KO your opponent. But eh, that’s a small hiccup when you’re dishing out raw power like that.
Oh, the beauty of Rare Candy in Celestial Guardians means this beast is ready to rumble in two turns. Talk about OP, right? Pair it with Silvally, and this duo is still making waves — straight out of Extradimensional Crisis, but here we are.
Right, but here’s the kicker. It’s almost like a pseudo-Fighting deck because Silvally brings the Normal energy to the mix. Weird combo, huh? Still, cracking open packs for Rampardos alone makes everything worth it. No way should this be the end-all for Fighting cards, though. The next set? Better toss in something equally spicy or Fighting stays stuck in the mud.
Oh, I should mention the Garchomp Ex deck. It was hatched from the ancient Triumphant Light days. This card’s still got it, with 170 HP and attacks that frankly slay. There’s Linear Attack, picking off opponents like a sniper, and Dragon Claw, just laying down the hurt. Great combo when it buddies up with Rampardos. Toss in Lillie for healing vibes, maybe a Cyrus maneuver to pull opponents into the ring for a beatdown. It’s a knockout strategy, literally.
If all this sounds like gibberish, don’t worry. I’m still figuring out why this whole card game hits differently. Maybe because it’s like a mini-adventure inside every booster pack. Or maybe I just enjoy the chaos of it all. Who even knows.
