Oh man, where to even start with this whole Switch 2 screen saga? Right, so this dude—Chimolog, I think—had some thoughts on it. Not happy thoughts, mind you. That display’s got a 17.06 ms response time. Yeah, you heard right. Sounds more like a glitch in the Matrix than a new gadget release.
Okay, maybe take what Chimolog says with a little salt shaker nearby. Why? Well, no clue how he got his data. But here we are, and that screen’s packing a 1080p, 120 Hz vibe on a 7.9-inch LCD. Problem? It struggles. Like, the pixels can’t keep up at 60 Hz. I mean, we’re talking real turtle pace here, especially since it got as sluggish as 27.46 ms sometimes. Ouch.
While I’m rambling—was I?—let’s bring in Innocn M2U, which sounds like a sci-fi character but is actually a Mini-LED monitor clocking 11.06 ms. Now, if you think math’s important, that’s 65% faster. Are you impressed? Should you be?
Nintendo seems to have gone all out on colors and brightness and stuff. Contrast ratio looks pretty snazzy at 1309:1, and it’s got this brightness thing going on, 303 cd/m², whatever that means. Color gamut stats sound like a rainbow’s dream. Heard it’s an IPS deal, just FYI.
Oh, text readability. Apparently, it’s doing some funky dance with its RGB diodes. Text goes a bit blurry, not unlike when you’re trying to read oil-smeared glasses.
And then there’s the 120 Hz question left hanging. Can it handle it? Who knows. Maybe it’ll just half-handshake with those fast response times. Or maybe it’ll surprise us all. 🤷♂️
But hold up. Don’t think that’s gonna scare off players. Nope, 3.5 million units flew off shelves in four days. Boom, record-making stuff. Nintendo’s cornered the market anyway since people wanna play their faves, pixel shenanigans or not.
But, um, fingers crossed for an OLED model sooner than forever? Eh, maybe you should too.
