Oh, July 11th felt like a bit of a whirlwind, right? Suddenly, all those PlayStation Plus folks, including me, got this surprise — like, ta-da! We were let in on this secret early access to the PlayStation Summer Sale. Over 200 games! I mean, who could even play that many? Anyway, it was a whole weekend of game discounts, but only if you’re a PS Plus member, obviously. So if you’re not, then, well, you were kinda outta luck till the next week or so.
So, yeah, those of us with the Essential, Extra, or Premium subscriptions (fancy, huh?) got a few days to lap up those sweet discounts before the plebs… er, I mean, non-members. July 15 was the cut-off for us on early access. But there was also the July Savings and Games Under $20 thing going on, which was pretty cool because, let’s be honest, who doesn’t love cheap games? Those ended July 16, though. Oh, and games like Diablo 4 and Jusant were up for grabs for PS Plus Essential folks till the month’s end, too. Bonus!
But here’s where I got distracted — the images! They plastered this big Ghost of Yotei PS5 thing. Looked cool, but then some OG PS5 owners were a bit miffed. Left out, maybe? Console giants, shaking things up again.
Anyway, as I was saying — or trying to — there were loads of discounts up for grabs. MP1st talked about a bunch of genres: sports things, horror stuff, shooters — the usual. Some steals, though. Borderlands 3 for $5.99? No-brainer. The Witcher 3 was going for $7.99, and who doesn’t wanna slay beasts once more? Skyrim was $9.99, which, I mean, is ancient but still so good, right? Suicide Squad at $6.99… controversial choice there, but hey, it’s your call. RoboCop on sale just before the new thing drops on July 17? Perfect timing, honestly.
Oh, there was this whole list of discounts, and I couldn’t keep track of them all. Bioshock and Alien: Isolation for under $10? Sign me up. Final Fantasy bundles, Elden Ring, GTA 5 — everything was slashed price-wise, and I mean, who wouldn’t be tempted?
One standout for 2025, apparently, was The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remastered — marked down to $39.99. The lowest price ever, or so they say. And Silent Hill 2 Remake and Metaphor: ReFantasio got hefty discounts too. Man, my backlog is gonna be ridiculous after this.
If you missed it, well… check the PS Store every now and then. Maybe it’ll come back around. With stuff like Cyberpunk 2077 added to the higher tiers, it’s almost like they’re daring us not to play. But who knows? Guess we’ll see which games are next on the chopping block.
Anyway, I digress. Happy gaming — or browsing. Whatever floats your boat.
