Current goal: Start repairing connections
Hey, it’s me again. So, after some intense times with The Last of Us Part II — wow, still can’t shake off those vibes — I’ve decided it’s time for a little respite. Some peace, I guess? Enter Sam Porter Bridges, right on cue. He’s got a mission that feels almost healing, like it’s meant for me or something.
Now, about that first Death Stranding. Took me forever — okay, maybe just multiple go-rounds — to really get it, but man, what a ride. It’s this rich cocktail of gaming oddities that keeps drawing you back in. Not sure I grasp everything, honestly. But the mystery kinda adds to the charm. Looking forward to whatever fresh madness Kojima’s cooking up in the sequel.
The original thrived on big themes, like our seemingly endless quest to cheat or control death. Combine that with its own universe’s extinction-level craziness, and you’ve got this intriguing mix. Just what I need to escape — I mean, come on, the world’s been a lot lately, hasn’t it? Sometimes a deep, weird dive is the best therapy.
Ah yes, Kojima. He had to rework Death Stranding 2 after the pandemic hit. Got a more pressing question this time: “Should We Have Connected?” Talk about hitting close to home. I keep mulling that over. Not sure what answer I expect — or need? — but diving into Kojima’s mind sounds just about right for now. — Claire Jackson
And that’s our wrap for the weekend picks! Enjoy your gaming and, hey, Happy Pride!
