Unexpected ‘Part 1’ Label for Rogue Incursion

When Survios unleashed their much-anticipated game, Alien: Rogue Incursion in 2024, gamers didn’t quite realize they were getting a ‘Part One’. Now that it’s out, that mystery has been clarified. It’s not as if you’re purchasing only half of a storyline. Instead, it’s the beginning of more exciting content that’s still in the pipeline.

Upon its debut on PC VR and PSVR 2, the ‘Part One’ tag left many players scratching their heads. Was this a complete game, or an episodic setup sliced into segments?

In our comprehensive review, we assured fans that the game spans a solid eight-hour journey, earning a respectable 7 out of 10 from us. The ambiance is richly immersive, with pulse-pounding run-ins with Xenomorphs reminiscent of swift, raptor-like creatures. Yet, there were drawbacks, such as the repetition among foes and the harsh save mechanism that slightly dulled the thrill.

Recently, Survios addressed these concerns on the platform X, explaining that the addition of ‘Part One’ was never meant to confuse or suggest a piecemeal release. Although the standalone journey concludes with a suspenseful cliffhanger, it’s simply the initial segment of a two-part saga.

The exciting news? Part Two is already in the works, as Survios disclosed last week, promising “more lethal adversaries and intensified challenges,” which certainly gets our heart racing.

In the meantime, we’re on the edge of our seats anticipating how the Quest version will shape up when it debuts on Quest 3/3S come February 13, 2025. As highlighted in our assessment, the game boasts dynamic level loading, intricately designed textures, and numerous physics-based interactions – reasons enough for the studio to put the Quest release on hold initially.

Misleading fans was never our goal, and we understand how “Part One” might have been misconstrued.

The standalone journey of Part One wraps up with a cliffhanger. We wanted to signal to you that more adventures lie ahead, leading us to confirm Part Two simultaneously with the launch. Our team at Survios shares a deep passion for the Alien world and is eager to unfold more tales of Zula, Davis, and others.

Although there’s no additional information about Part Two to share yet, it is actively in development, and we promise exciting updates down the line.
