Oh man, okay, where do I even start with this? Eldramoor: Haven in the Mist is diving into Kickstarter next week, having a go at lighting up that VR MMO magic—guess we all need a bit of that, right, since Orbus VR called it quits.
So, supposedly on June 24th, Eldramoor’s Kickstarter kicks off. It’s gonna be a new VR MMORPG, eyeing to land on Quest 3 and SteamVR headsets sometime late next year. Why late? Who knows. Probably just the way these things roll.
Now, here’s a fun tidbit: Resolute Games, these folks who are making it, were big Orbus fans themselves. They kinda decided early last year, like February 2024-ish (wait, last year? Time is weird here), to jump in and create something new. Filling gaps, ya know?
Alright, description time. Imagine this: Eldramoor is like this mystical hangout spot, right? You follow a legendary hero named Eldranis—because that’s what we’ve all been dying to do, obviously. It’s got battles, professions, tavern chit-chat with mini-games. Basically, you just can’t show up without some mysterious dark force rearing its head. Drama!
Wanna be a Warrior, Mage, or maybe try your hand at being a Monk or Alchemist? It’s got classes galore. Plus raids, dungeons, and, oh yeah, fishing. And some more random stuff — they may or may not be ready right off the bat. Way to keep us guessing, guys.
But, here’s the thing: cash talks. No mention yet on how they’ll tier the Kickstarter dough—is dough even a thing people say anymore? Anyway, the founder Lynn M. Souza is shooting for a $25,000 start. That’s like… same as Zenith, apparently. Crossing fingers it doesn’t meet the same end. Orbus crumbled this year, and Zenith’s been on the retreat. Ouch.
Ilysia VR’s still rocking it, thanks to a 2020 Kickstarter. Good on them, I guess. They’re updating and throwing in stuff to buy in the game like it’s nobody’s business. And there’s Souza again, waxing nostalgic about Orbus and how it was fab for its time even though it sorta got stuck in 2019 tech. And now, well, this Eldramoor thing’s happening.
What’s the timeline? December 2026 is the big date to circle on your calendar—PC VR, Meta Quest 3, yadda yadda. An alpha release is penciled in for late 2025, and maybe—just maybe—a beta in Summer 2026. Exciting, right?
If you’re curious (or just nosy), mark June 24th to July 24th for the Kickstarter fuss. Eldramoor’s Steam page is up too, so go ahead, wishlist it. Or don’t. The universe will keep spinning either way.
