Alright, let’s see… Fallout fandom, what a wild ride, huh? I mean, imagine being in love with a series that hasn’t dropped a new single-player RPG in, what, a decade? Thank goodness Fallout 76 shaped up and that TV show is killing it! But, gah, waiting for Fallout 5? We might be grandparents by then, what with Elder Scrolls 6 taking priority. Talk about a mixed bag!
But hey, there’s a silver lining – the community! Man, these folks just whip out the coolest stuff. Take those modders on Fallout London – real wizards, if you ask me. Oh, and get this: stumbled on a new mod over the weekend, ‘cause of some trailer that blew up. Honestly? Blew my mind. I mean, Fallout: Bakersfield! They’re meshing it with the first DOOM. Yes, DOOM! Crazy, right?
Bakersfield! Or should I say Necropolis – classic Fallout fans, you get me. City full of ghouls, radiation’s finest. Apparently, you’re this dweller from Vault 13. Harry the super mutant shows up. So, you’re maybe the Vault 1 hero? Or this scout, Talius? I’m not sure, but I’m intrigued!
The gameplay. Wow. Old-school DOOM colliding with Fallout RPG vibes. The UI’s like this cute mix; you know, logs that scream Fallout at you? Divine. And the graphics! Takes you back to Fallout 1’s vibes – gritty, pixel-y, just marinated in retro-futuristic gore. Plus, it’s got this 2.5D style where sprites are all, like, hanging out in 3D spaces. It’s bonkers in the best way.
Weapons galore – 10mm SMG, Flamers, Plasma Pistols. It’s got this prop destruction, container rummaging; dialogue options, too. Who talks instead of shooting in a DOOM-like world? Apparently, you do here.
But, uhm, the animations – limited frames, all exaggerated. Charming, right? And those old Fallout sound effects. Love it!
Anyway, when’s it coming out? No idea. Devs say it’s 60% done. Weapons, environments, creatures – they’re ticking boxes fast. But, patience, young grasshopper.
Oh, Alexander “Red888Guns” Berezin and his mate Denis are behind it. They’ve got this Boosty thing going. Toss them a couple of bucks if you’re feeling generous. Though, they’re adamant – not about the cash. No monetization on their trailer even. Respect.
I’m sending a few dollars their way to keep this magic alive. ‘Cause, honestly? Projects like these peek into corners big studios ignore. They’re a lifeline while we all twiddle thumbs waiting for the next big Fallout drop.
