Fans of Hollow Knight: Silksong recently received a pleasant surprise with fresh screenshots from the game, providing updated visuals of locations first teased in the 2019 trailer. As the game’s expected release later this year draws closer, these images offer a sneak peek at the progress of development. After the breakout success of 2017’s Hollow Knight, Team Cherry announced this sequel in 2019. While the initial trailer revealed a world just as enthralling as the first game, Hollow Knight: Silksong distinguished itself by introducing a new playable character, Hornet, instead of the original Knight. With breathtaking environments and more formidable bosses, the game has built significant anticipation since its initial announcement. Despite the six-year-long wait for its arrival, fans were recently relieved to find confirmation of a 2025 release during the Nintendo Switch 2 Direct on April 2.

According to mossbag69, these images highlighted the city of Bellhart, the Lace fight, and the starting room. The screenshots prompted comparisons on social media, showcasing how these areas have evolved since 2019. Bellhart, in particular, experienced noticeable changes, including a softer background focus and revised surrounding bugs. It’s also worth noting that the Lace fight and initial area were previously seen in some PlayStation images following the 2019 reveal.

Although these fresh images don’t introduce new areas per se, they’ve certainly stirred excitement among fans eager for more details on Hollow Knight: Silksong. The Twitter post from mossbag69 garnered over 37,000 likes, indicating the high level of anticipation for Team Cherry’s follow-up game.

Surprisingly, that’s not the end of the news about Hollow Knight: Silksong. Alongside the screenshots, Team Cherry provided an update about the game’s availability on the Switch. After the announcement of its compatibility with Switch 2, some players worried the game might bypass the original Switch.
