Oh man, where do I even start? Okay, so Nintendo just dropped some updates for the Switch 1 games, right? And they’re throwing them onto Switch 2, which is, like, a big deal, I guess. I mean, who doesn’t love a random surprise now and then, even if you’ve got all the gritty details in front of you? Keeps life spicy. Anyway…
So, apparently, this webpage – which, I swear, felt like it was waiting to spill the beans – finally let loose. June 5 is the day to mark in your calendar because that’s when Switch 2’s gonna vibe with these updates.
Now, I’m no tech wizard, but here’s the thing: they’ve actually listed out what’s getting jazzed up. Like, framerate stuff. ARMS, Pokémon Scarlet/Violet, and Mario — oh sorry, Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury — are all getting a bit of a frame facelift. Why did I even notice this? Maybe I’m just hungry. Whatever.
And then there’s the whole visual fidelity deal — I mean, shiny graphics, people. ARMS again (seriously, I should probably play that), Captain Toad, Game Builder Garage, and a bunch of Mario and Zelda titles are getting this glitzy makeover. The list goes on longer than an unexpected grocery receipt. You know what I mean?
HDR, too — oh boy, Captain Toad and a couple of Zelda titles are loving that high dynamic range life. It’s like switching from dull sandpaper to smooth silk or something.
But here’s where things get wild: GameShare and mouse support (Joy-Con 2, say what?!). Ah, the joy of sharing games without actually sharing much. Big Brain Academy – who even comes up with these names? – and Clubhouse Games are in on this, too. As for that mouse thing, it’s Game Builder Garage, if you’re curious.
So yeah, tons of updates! They probably have their reasons, or maybe they’re just throwing game spaghetti at the wall to see what sticks. Who knows? But hey, at least it’s something. Right?
