Oh hey, there was this big thing called the State of Play. I watched it. Or did I just read about it? Honestly, I can’t even remember but let’s pretend I was there. They crammed a ton of stuff into that show. Games galore. New stuff, old stuff, stuff I didn’t even know I wanted. But you missed it? Or maybe you wanna relive it, hey, no judgment here. Let’s dive in, shall we?
Rewind the whole shebang if you want. I mean, watch it, watch it again, whatever vibes with you. But what I’m gonna do is dish out a play-by-play of the highlights. Or lowlights? Nah, probably more highlights.
First up, Astro Bot. Five new levels, wild right? Something about Vicious Void Galaxy—sounds intense. Oh, and there’s this smiley controller thing coming later. Smiley? Didn’t know controllers could smile, but go figure.
Then there’s Baby Steps. This heartwarming (?) walking simulator is like, officially landing on PS5. September 8th, mark it. This game wants you to embrace your inner toddler or something. Weird, but hey, maybe that’s the point.
What’s next? Ah, Bloodstained: The Scarlet Engagement. It’s got this massive castle thing and heroes with cool names like Leo and Alex. You can switch between them, like instant character swaps or something. Keeps it spicy.
Cairn, Cairn, Cairn. November 5th is when you get to climb stuff. On a mountain. Duh. Blame it on The Game Bakers. Apparently, there’s a demo floating around, too. Go explore your inner mountain goat.
Oh, Digimon Story: Time Stranger. This one feels vibrant. Characters, Digimon, all launching October 3rd. More digital monsters? Yes, please. I mean, who doesn’t need more Digimon in their life?
Golf anyone? Everybody’s Golf Hot Shots brings Pac-Man onto the course. Unexpected? Yes. Necessary? Probably never thought about it, but now I want it. September 5th. Tee time.
Final Fantasy Tactics is back. They’re calling it The Ivalice Chronicles. Voices are now a thing, UI’s fancier, and there’s a “Squire” setting which—guessing here—means it’s easier? September 30th, dive into tactics.
Ghost of Yōtei is getting its own special State of Play thingy. More details in July. Mark your calendar if ghostly escapades are your jam.
Hirogami’s origami-world sounds fun. It’s an action platformer where you roll like paper (maybe literally). September 3rd is when it unfolds.
Ah, then there’s 007 First Light. Your chance to play as James Bond before he actually becomes James Bond. Sounds meta, right? It’s coming next year.
Lumines Arise caters to my puzzle-loving heart. PS VR2 will also make the lineup, combining puzzles with virtual reality magic. Intriguing or dizzying? Guess we’ll find out.
A Marvel fighting game? Yup. MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls is brewing—and they’re hyping this up as a tag-team fighter. Could be a knockout.
Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater gives a warm nod to its roots, and there’s something about monkeys? Yeah, that too. August 28th for monkey business.
Mortal Kombat Kollection gathers up its gory past and ties it into some documentary-style insight. A blast from the past with an educational twist. Cool, right?
Nioh 3 feeds our samurai-ninja fantasies, complete with combat switches. The demo drops soon—today soon if I’ve got this right. Go slashy-slash.
PlayStation Plus is sprinkling classics like Deus Ex, Resident Evil, and even more Twisted Metal into the mix. Nostalgia overload anyone?
Capcom’s Pragmata is teasing us with more insights. Dual control antics with characters Hugh and Diana—it’s happening in 2026. Feels far away but guess time flies?
Project Defiant makes a splash with fight sticks. Yeah, sticks designed for fighting games, all wireless and slick. Next year, gamers, get ready to rumble.
Romeo is a Dead Man. It sounds as bonkers as it is, combining time-shattering paradoxes with FBI drama. Because why not.
Sea of Remnants paints a pirate-y scene on PS5. Assemble your crew, tackle storms, and pirate merriment. Find me a reason not to play this.
Silent Hill f (note the small f) arrives September 25th. It’s got fog—apparently lots of it—and high schooler Shimizu’s in it for a wild journey. Long story short, spooky coolness.
Surfing gets mythical in Sword of the Sea. Mythic waves hit August 19th as part of the PlayStation Plus. Ready to ride them?
Thief VR: Legacy of Shadow takes sneaky to VR2 with water arrows and shadow dancing. A true thief’s dream come virtual reality.
Lastly, Tides of Tomorrow paddles onto PS5 in 2026, weaving your gameplay with a stranger’s past choices. Hope they’re not digital psychopaths or anything.
Phew! That’s a digital romp through the latest State of Play. Wild, eh? I mean, grab a drink, settle in, and let the game worlds welcome you in their weird, wonderful ways. ✨
