Sure thing, let’s dive into this chaotic swirl of thoughts!

Wow, so Section 9 Interactive and Epic Games unveiled some sort of new sci-fi horror game, End of Abyss, at the Summer Game Fest 2025. Sounds intense, right? They’re calling it a mix of body horror and eerie exploration, which kind of freaks me out just thinking about it. Like, body horror? No thanks, but also yes, I’m intrigued.
And apparently, it’s top-down FPS? Which, I don’t know about you, but I’m having a hard time picturing. Is it like Inside or Little Nightmares? People are saying it kind of vibes like those games. Creepy, unsettling, maybe a bit mind-bending. I’ve played some Little Nightmares, and honestly, some of those visuals I just can’t unsee.
The backstory of the devs is kinda cool too. These guys worked on Little Nightmares, Little Nightmares 2, and LittleBigPlanet PS VITA. I can’t help but wonder if they’re bringing something super funky from those past projects into this new game. Like, LittleBigPlanet vibes in a horror game? Wild thought…
I guess it was shown as part of some broader spooky announcement lineup, which included stuff like another Resident Evil (because you can never have too many zombies, right?) and a bunch of indie titles. Survival horror is definitely having its moment.
The trailer dropped too. There’s this character, Cel, who’s a combat tech or something, exploring a busted-up old facility underground. Imagining being in Cel’s shoes gives me the creeps — dealing with all those monstrous things. Yikes! I can’t help but root for her to come out on top, but I’m usually too scared to play these things myself. Just watching the trailer, I could almost hear the echoey ambience of an empty metal hallway. Deafening silence, the worst kind.
And speaking of, it’s releasing for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S in 2026. But jeez, 2026? My calendar is already marked with tons of releases in the meantime. Really looking forward to seeing how End of Abyss fits in with the lineup of games like Reanimal or Little Nightmares 3. I still keep thinking about how that Silent Hill remake turned out–it kind of set the bar for horror remakes, I think.
But, back to the topic — end of abyss. The name itself sounds poetic, almost Shakespearean. I picture myself (probably incorrectly) on some kind of epic journey, torch in hand, into the darkest, most twisted corridors of imagination…I hope there’s coffee in this abyss. Simply to keep me awake after the inevitable nightmares. Anyway, where was I? Yeah, they’ve opened wishlisting on Epic Games Store and PlayStation Store. Time to pile on more games I’ll probably take forever to try.
And there you have it, just another day in the chaotic universe of gaming. Let’s see how this one shapes up.
