Alrighty, so Nintendo’s got this thing coming out—Switch 2’s landing with Drag x Drive. Yeah, that’s right, a wheelchair basketball game. Oddly specific, isn’t it? Anyway, mark your calendar for Aug. 14. And funnily enough, that’s when Madden NFL 26 drops too. Coincidence? Maybe. But who cares, right?
Drag x Drive seems like one of those quirky Nintendo experiments. Slaps a $19.99 tag on it. Sounds like they’re rounding off what’s shaping up to be one heck of a laid-back summer for gaming on the Switch 2. I mean, besides this, what’s even coming out? Oh, right, Kirby and the Forgotten Land gets a Switch 2 makeover with an expansion, something about Star-Crossed Land. Who thinks of these names? Oh, and new Mouthful Modes. Still trying to wrap my head around what that even means.
July’s bringing Donkey Kong Bananza to the party. Plus, guess what? Another re-release—Super Mario Party Jamboree, now with Jamboree TV content. Sounds like a trend: dust off the old and serve it with a side of new.
Rolling into September? Pretty meh. Nothing from Nintendo itself. But fear not! Third parties to the rescue with things like Borderlands 4 and, I dunno, another Final Fantasy. Keeps the calendar busy at least.
October’s got something big—a new Pokémon, Legends: Z-A, doing this cross-gen thing. Hand it to Pokémon to keep the ball rolling.
Looking further out, 2025’s got some mysteries: Kirby Air Riders and Metroid Prime 4. Yep, that last one’s going to the OG Switch too. I’d throw Metroid into September because why not?
Fall might get more interesting with Kirby and other surprises. Have your eyes peeled for Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition, Hades 2—stuff that’ll keep Switch 2 owners tapping away. And word is, Zelda-themed Hyrule Warriors might sneak in during the winter, or maybe 2026? Anyone’s guess.
By the way, the gaps might get filled with some GameCube throwbacks—remember Super Mario Sunshine, anyone? The nostalgia’s real.
Nintendo’s always got tricks up its sleeve though, right? You think you know what’s coming, and then—bam—surprise outta nowhere. Keeps things interesting.
