Marvel’s New Retro Game Features Top Thor and Non-MCU Silver Surfer

Alright, so imagine sitting in your favorite café, coffee steaming away as you dive into the wild world of Marvel. I swear, every time I think I’ve got a grip on the universe, they pull a new character out of a hat, or maybe a wormhole? Anyway, now we’ve got these two new big shots joining the gang — no surprise there, right? So, you’ve got Captain America and Spider-Man already swinging around, but now Captain could be thrown off by who? Beta Ray Bill. And yes, the guy’s got a horse face—seriously, a horse! I chuckled the first time I saw him. Anyway, he’s kind of like Thor’s cyber twin from the Korbinite planet, and he’s slinging Stormbreaker, a hammer so mighty it makes other weapons look like toys. First met him in The Mighty Thor No. 337. Walt Simonson crafted this wild ride of a character. He even got a chance to twirl Mjolnir. Imagine that! Thunder and all.

Oh, and there’s the Silver Surfer, gracefully gliding in with the Power Cosmic and his utterly rad surfboard — smacking down space bugs like he’s playing whack-a-mole. What a guy!

This whole shindig was showcased at the one-and-only San Diego Comic-Con, because where else are you gonna drop superhero news, right? They dropped some juicy tidbits about the game’s voice actors, too. I’m no expert here, but it’s bound to be cool.

Marvel Cosmic Invasion’s blasting its way to pretty much every gaming console out there — Switch, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, you name it. And when’s this all happening? Later this year. They always keep us hanging, don’t they?
