Resolution Games just dropped a glimpse of their new game: this mashup with Dungeons & Dragons, called Demeo x DUNGEONS & DRAGONS: Battlemarked. Must admit, the excitement is real. Picture this: back in January, they casually mentioned it was happening. Fast forward, we finally get to see something. Like, hello, Hasbro’s Wizards of the Coast and Resolution Games, thanks for that.
So, I saw the gameplay, and yeah, not wildly different from Demeo. Four players dive into these dungeons, which, by the way, are crawling with monsters. Seriously, it’s like they have a hiring spree for creepy creatures. If you’re new to Demeo—oh man, where have you been? Anyway, it’s this quick, turn-based combat thing. You move around a board, all tactical and stuff, using action points to kick some monster butt with a simple die roll.
Battlemarked uses the same die—a sword for hits, double swords for criticals, and a skull that screams “failure.” You’ve got action cards for attacks and defenses, tailored to your character class. Not to sound too geeky, but that’s kinda sweet.
Oh, and it’s launching with VR and flat-screen modes on Steam and PlayStation 5. You can even go VR on Quest 3/S, PSVR 2, and PCs. Honestly, choice galore. Plus, they’re planning a late 2025 release—mark your calendars or, you know, just forget like I usually do. They’ll tell us more soon, like when it’s actually dropping and what other platforms to expect.
They’re getting all D&D with the lore, thanks to Matt Sernett. If his name rings a few bells, he had a hand in games like Baldur’s Gate and Icewind Dale ages ago. Really sets the bar high, doesn’t it? Makes you wanna wishlist it right now—who’s with me? It’s up on the Horizon Store for Quest, PlayStation Store for PSVR 2, and of course, Steam for PC VR. Just saying.
