Wow, so here’s this game called Reach they announced during some big webcast. nDreams Elevation cooked it up—a VR game with a mix of parkour and fighting giant baddies. And yeah, it’s not just another VR thing. It sounds epic or maybe insane? Hard to tell from just a preview.
This is nDreams Elevation’s first dive into their own pool. Formed in 2022 to make something they’re calling their “most ambitious title.” Big words, right? They’re splashing this on all major VR headsets. Heads up, there might even be more headsets to play it on by the time this drops. Seriously, how fast do these headsets come out? Oh, and they’re tossing around terms like “mythical threats” and “VR-native combat.” Not sure if that’s blowing smoke or what.
They threw out a trailer, and boy, it shows players doing the whole jumping, climbing, zip-lining gig. Reminds me of those parkour videos on the internet where you’re like, “Is this for real?” Maybe they borrowed some vibes from their older stuff like Fracked or Synapse.
And here’s a kicker, the presentation was by Shuhei Yoshida. You know, the guy who used to run Sony’s Worldwide Studios. That’s some heavyweight backing, if that means anything to you. To rattle off his own words, he’s pretty jazzed about the game’s immersion and creativity. (I’m assuming he’s not just being nice.)
Glenn Brace, the head honcho at nDreams Elevation, pitched about the game making you feel powerful, and they want you to be really “in it.” Sounds like they’re pushing for you not to feel like you’re just waving around in thin air with a headset on.
And yeah, you can wishlist this bad boy on stores for Quest, PSVR 2, and Steam. So, are you going to line up for it or what?
