Potential Starters for Pokemon Legends Z-A

There’s growing buzz about the potential starters for Pokemon Legends: Z-A, and all signs seem to point towards Chespin, Fennekin, and Froakie. Last year, Nintendo teased the game with a brief cinematic trailer that revealed some key features while leaving plenty to speculate about.

The first look at Pokemon Legends: Z-A confirmed its setting in the vibrant Lumiose City of the Kalos region. Mega Evolutions are set to make a triumphant return, and a few familiar Pokemon have been confirmed to reappear. Yet, much of the game remains cloaked in mystery, especially when it comes to the starter Pokemon.

Although there’s no official confirmation from The Pokemon Company about which starters we’ll actually see in Pokemon Legends: Z-A, the evidence suggesting it will be Chespin, Fennekin, and Froakie is piling up. These three were the iconic starters from Pokemon X and Y, both based in the Kalos region, which makes them fitting candidates. Not long ago, a notable leaker hinted at their return, and the recent promotional artwork for the 2025 Pokemon World Championships featuring Fennekin and Chespin has only fueled these rumors.

Considering the new game is set in the Kalos region, many fans might have naturally assumed Chespin, Fennekin, and Froakie would lead the roster as starters.
