Hey there, gamers! I’m Oli, the head honcho over at Kaizen Game Works, the minds behind Paradise Killer. I’ve got some thrilling news: our brand-new open-world game, Promise Mascot Agency, just got its playable demo launched on the PS5!

We’ve poured a lot of love and time into this project, and the team can hardly wait for PlayStation fans to dive in. Let me cut to the chase; the PS5 is an absolute game-changer. Personally, I grew up playing on the entire PlayStation family—right from the original to the PS4—and those experiences definitely shaped how Promise Mascot Agency came to be. I even have a collection of games from the PS2 era, which were a huge inspiration for this title.

If you’re into those PS2 classics where you can just hang out and do cool things, like Way of the Samurai, Raw Danger, Boku No Natsuyasumi, or Steambot Chronicles, then you’re in for a treat. Our goal was to create a world where you can chill, meet quirky characters, make impactful decisions, and explore at your own pace—all bundled with intriguing mysteries and pure vibes.

You’ll step into the shoes of Michi, an exiled yakuza lieutenant, who teams up with the quirky chaos goblin, Pinky, to save a failing mascot agency. This ain’t your everyday save-the-day scenario, though—mascots in this world are living, breathing entities. Michi’s mission takes him to the offbeat town of Kaso-Machi. Here, a bunch of misfits hangs around, trying to find their place. Michi’s tasked with building a new mascot family to revitalize the agency and save his crime family back home.

Kaso-Machi, with its supernatural flavor, has ghosts and spirits galore. The mountain at its core is a divine playground, thick with superstition and occult lore. Michi has more than just saving a business to worry about—he’s got ghostly puzzles, rogue talismans, and the mythical Tsuchinoko to contend with. Oh, and a curse that spells doom for any yakuza who dares enter. The clock’s ticking—can Michi solve the conspiracy and lift the curse in time?

This brainchild of ours started four years ago, with the incredible support of Ikumi Nakamura and Mai Mattori in crafting the game’s characters and world. By fusing our Kaizen vibe with Nakamura-san’s unique touch, we’ve created something truly one-of-a-kind. Although we’re a western company, we teamed up with talented Japanese artists, musicians, and creatives to bring authenticity to our eclectic game world. Trust me, this has added rich layers and diverse experiences to the entire in-game universe.

We’ve also just revealed some of our voice talents, featuring the legendary Takaya Kuroda (yes, Kiryu Kazuma himself!) voicing Michi. It was a delightful surprise when Kuroda-san casually turned up for auditions. He joins forces with Ayano Shibuya as Pinky, lending a unique buddy-cop atmosphere to the duo’s dynamic. The game also features several other stellar voices, along with debut performances from Shuhei Yoshida and SWERY.

We’re a small, passionate team, and it’s taken every ounce of our creativity to build this whimsical, 20-hour open-world RPG. We’re ecstatic to finally share it with all of you.
