NVIDIA and AMD are gearing up to release their budget-friendly graphics cards this May, setting the stage for an exciting showdown in the mid-range GPU market.
## NVIDIA & AMD Set to Take Over the Mid-Range GPU Market with RTX 5060 & RX 9060 XT
For gamers shopping in the low-to-mid-tier market, options have been pretty limited. Latest models, especially from NVIDIA, have been scarce, pushing prices well above their suggested retail values. AMD’s RX 9070 series is also facing high demand, making MSRP deals hard to come by. Yet, things are about to change as both companies prepare to introduce new models. According to a report from Benchlife, we might see these launches as soon as next month.
Looking at NVIDIA, the GeForce RTX 5060 is expected to hit stores by May 19. This new card will feature an 8 GB GDDR7 VRAM setup, operating at 28 Gbps over a 128-bit memory bus. However, it will also consume more power—a 35W increase in TDP compared to the RTX 4060. Here’s how the RTX 5060 stacks up:
– 25% more CUDA cores
– Same memory capacity
– Faster GDDR7 memory (28 Gbps)
– More bandwidth (+64%)
– 30% higher power rating
Over at AMD, enthusiasm is building for the Radeon RX 9060 XT, anticipated to debut on May 21 at Computex, with retail availability possibly extending into June. Equipped with the Navi 44 die on a 128-bit bus, it’ll be available in 8GB and 16GB versions, much like NVIDIA’s RTX 5060 Ti. The RX 9060 XT will boast 2,048 SPs, half of the Radeon RX 9070 XT, with game clocks at 2620 MHz and boost clocks at 3230 MHz. It’s poised to deliver impressive performance for 1080p and 2K gaming.
We’ll be bringing you live updates from Computex 2025, covering the launches of these NVIDIA and AMD GPUs. May is shaping up to be a pivotal month as competition heats up in the mid-range GPU market. Stay tuned for early sneak peeks!
