Take-Two Interactive recently shared that they’re keen to support the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2, even though they’re keeping further details under wraps for now.
Over the years, this third-party publisher has brought a range of titles to the original Switch. Gamers have enjoyed hits like BioShock: The Collection, Borderlands Legendary Collection, and the XCOM 2 Collection. Other notable releases include Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition, New Tales from the Borderlands, LEGO 2K Drive, NBA 2K25, and Sid Meier’s Civilization VII.
Strauss Zelnick, CEO of Take-Two Interactive, shed some light on this topic during the company’s Q3 2025 earnings call. He mentioned, “We’ve enjoyed a strong relationship with Nintendo, offering support when it felt right for specific games. There was a period when Nintendo’s systems primarily catered to a younger audience, influencing our release patterns.”
Zelnick went on to add, “Today, with the Nintendo Switch and potentially with the Switch 2 on the horizon, these devices appeal to a broader audience. For instance, Sid Meier’s Civilization VII is now playable on Switch. While there’s no specific news to announce, we do anticipate backing the Switch 2.”
For those eager to learn more about Nintendo’s forthcoming console, a dedicated Nintendo Direct presentation for the Switch 2 is on the horizon. Mark your calendars for 6am PT / 9am ET / 2pm BST / 3pm CEST on Wednesday, April 2.
As for when you’ll be able to get your hands on the Nintendo Switch 2, it’s slated for a global release in 2025, with the exact date still under wraps. Keep an eye out for the official reveal trailer!
