The Sims 4 Unveils March 2025 Update

A fresh update has landed for The Sims 4, aiming to enhance the experience of the Businesses and Hobbies expansion pack. This latest patch primarily focuses on resolving glitches related to customer interactions and class resets, making the expansion more enjoyable and seamless.

Among the fixes is a solution for an unusual issue where burglars had been making off with items that couldn’t be retrieved, such as toilet stalls from small businesses. This patch addresses such thefts to ensure these items remain safe.

In addition to tidying up these glitches, the update also includes a variety of quality-of-life improvements to ensure a smoother gaming experience.

Released on March 6, 2025, the Businesses & Hobbies expansion focuses on entrepreneurship within the game. Players can dive into various profitable hobbies, from tattooing and pottery to mentorships. These features allow gamers to build intriguing businesses and services, all while expanding their Sims’ horizons.

The update, which rolled out on March 20, 2025, covers a wide array of aspects related to managing a business. Minor tweaks have been made to correctly display business names, accurately list the number of servings when food items are up for sale, and ensure that the employee section on the Career Panel functions properly. In a quirky twist, ghosts will no longer pop in as customers unless desired, a setting easily managed under the Occult Target Customer options.

For those invested in Sims 4 classes and masteries, this update brings notable improvements. It fixes an issue where the Hobby Whiteboard lessons were disappearing every time players saved, loaded, or traveled in-game. Moreover, the "Skillful Sleep" skill which creates a ghostly version of a Sim to enhance skills during rest, has been adjusted for better effectiveness.

The issue of burglaries within the game has also been targeted. Previously, Sims running small businesses were troubled by burglars nabbing items that could not be recovered, but this patch secures those items. While Sims still need to tackle the threat of burglaries, normal customers will no longer linger past closing time or meddle with plants after hours.

• A new wage structure based on Skill Level is now in place for Paid Mentoring, regardless of the combination of packs owned.
• The locked camera position in Create a Sim’s Bracelet category has been lifted, allowing zoom functionality.
• Preventative measures are now in place to stop burglars from taking unretrievable items, keeping your facilities intact.

Cats & Dogs / Horse Ranch:

• The Pelt Paint Mode buttons for positioning are back, letting you customize your pets’ look with ease.

• Customer Sims will properly tend to gardens during designated Business Activities.
• Employees won’t accidentally remove paintings from walls during crafting activities.
• Ghost Sims will only show up at small businesses if specified under customer settings.
• Group Meals now sell for an accurate price reflecting the number of servings.
• Skill-focused projections from the "Skillful Sleep" Skill Mastery Perk will be more productive.
• Class settings on the Hobby Whiteboard won’t reset unexpectedly.
• Customers can’t enter a small business after closing, maintaining proper after-hours privacy.
• Candy Recipe costs have been adjusted for better profitability.
• Tattoos with Custom Content will be clearly marked in the Gallery to avoid confusion.
• Players without expansion packs can now access base game settings for small business events.
• Notification glitches regarding Inaccessible Ticket Kiosks have been addressed.
• Business names will now display correctly when creating preset businesses.
