Top-Rated Xbox Exclusive Game Set to Launch on PS5

There’s buzz in the gaming community that Hellblade 2, a highly praised Xbox game, might be available on PS5 soon. This could signal a trend where Xbox exclusives, known for their stunning visuals and sound, become accessible to a wider audience, including PlayStation fans.

In 2024, Xbox released its much-anticipated first-party game, Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2, and rumors are now swirling about its potential arrival on PS5. If true, this game would follow other Xbox titles like Forza Horizon 5 and Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, which have already made their way to PlayStation.

Created by Ninja Theory, an Xbox-owned studio, Hellblade 2 debuted on May 21, 2024, for PC and Xbox Series X/S. It serves as a sequel to the 2017 hit, Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice, and received critical acclaim, securing multiple awards at The Game Awards 2024. With titles like Forza Horizon 5, Age of Empires 2, and Age of Mythology: Retold recently confirmed for cross-platform launches, it wouldn’t be surprising to see Hellblade 2 on PlayStation soon.

Windows Central’s Jez Corden hinted on Twitter that Hellblade 2’s arrival on PS5 isn’t a matter of “if,” but “when,” and he believes it will happen soon. He also speculated that the announcement might be made during the State of Play livestream on February 12, 2025. Intriguingly, he also mentioned that South of Midnight, scheduled for release in April 2025, could find its way to PlayStation as well.

If these reports hold water, Hellblade 2 will be the latest in a series of Xbox games heading to platforms beyond Microsoft’s own. We’ve seen Xbox-published games like 2022’s Pentiment and the upcoming Doom: The Dark Ages being announced for other consoles, suggesting a strategic shift in how Xbox releases its titles.
