Veilguard Update Now Available

Dragon Age: The Veilguard seems to have reached the end of its post-launch updates, if the latest patch notes are anything to go by. EA recently disclosed that 1.5 million players have experienced the game, falling 50% short of their initial target. This shortfall has reportedly led them to cease ongoing support just three months after launch.

Bioware introduced the fifth update for Dragon Age: The Veilguard by stating that from now on they’ll only be keeping an eye out for serious bugs and issues, sparking widespread speculation that this might be the last major update for the game.

From the patch notes, “We were thrilled with the game’s stability at launch and hope you’ve appreciated our Quality of Life updates since then. With the game now in a stable condition, we’re shifting to actively monitor for any game-breaking bugs should they arise.”

It certainly feels like this could be the final significant update, even though Bioware hasn’t outright confirmed it.

Quality of Life Changes:

• Side quests now have recommended levels to make gameplay smoother for players who might receive them when they’re not quite ready.

Bug Fixes:

• Resolved an issue where Rook could only flirt with Lucanis during a particular conversation.

• Fixed problems with the Regrets of The Dread Wolf quest, which wasn’t triggering correctly and could trap Rook in an invisible barrier in the Crossroads.

• Addressed a blocking issue with a puzzle in the Converged City area of the Crossroads.

• Corrected an issue where the “Imperium’s Resolve” armor was causing negative damage instead of the intended absence of fire, cold, necrotic, and electric damage.

• Excessive clipping on Taash’s “Rivain’s Legacy” armor has been fixed.

• Fixed a bug preventing certain Rooks from swapping runes on their lyrium dagger.

• An issue with the Medium Armor Mastery skill for Warriors is now resolved.

• Resolved an issue causing Rook to drown repeatedly without assistance on Rivain’s beach.

• Corrected a typo on a note Rook finds in Dock Town.

• Enhanced the quality of photo mode screenshots when HDR was on, fixing a previous degradation in quality.

• Photo mode screenshot location display issues have been fixed.

• Resolved a flickering issue with fireflies in the Crossroads opening area on particular settings.

• Fixed lighting issues in team conversations at the Lighthouse.

• An issue in the Mirror of Transformation that disabled mouse wheel zooming has been resolved.

• Updated the Objective Marker Visibility to align when the exploration preset is modified under the Exploration sub-category.

• Minor adjustments have been made to the game credits.
