Sure thing!

So, Assetto Corsa EVO hit earlier this year, right? And it’s got this PC VR mode that, honestly, wasn’t amazing. I mean, how many times can you squint at a screen and call it fun? Anyway, the folks at KUNOS Simulazioni just pushed out their 0.2 update. Finally, some VR tweaks that make me think, “Okay, we’re getting somewhere now.”
Speaking of the update—did you see the seven new cars? Maserati GT2, and a Lotus Exige V6 Cup, just to name a couple. I always thought the Alfa Romeo Giulia Sprint GTA had a vibe, you know? And if you’re into tracks, they’ve added Circuit of the Americas and Donington Park. My friend swears that COTA is cursed though. But who listens to friends?
Now, there’s this single-player ‘Open Mode’. Which, honestly, sounds like a fancy term for “here are all the cars, have fun.” And there’s a ‘Career Mode’. Progression mechanics are in there, but let’s be real—I still end up in a ditch halfway through the race.
Anyway—no wait, back to VR stuff. They’re calling this update “step two” for VR. Fancy words, but the improvements are there, I guess. There’s all this techy stuff like new VR TV cameras and dynamic mirror capture mode. Whatever that means. Oh, and they fixed some black glitch at the horizon. Which sounds like a bad sci-fi film title, doesn’t it?
Moving your setup from flatscreen to VR shouldn’t be like solving a Rubik’s cube blindfolded, but hey, progress is progress. Dunno about you, but I love a good graphics comparison vid. The latest one shows the leap from version 0.16 to 0.2. HYPEVR TV did a bang-up job on that.
The word from KUNOS is that six more updates are coming before we hit their 1.0 release in Fall 2025. That feels both really close and really far away. Maybe they’ll finally make VR feel worth the 32 bucks I spent. One can hope, right?
