Xbox’s Gears of War: Reloaded, huh? Finally hitting PlayStation. About time, right? And get this—it’s almost two decades old. Feels kinda weird thinking about that, doesn’t it? And by the way, this version is gonna eat up a lot of your PS5’s storage. Yep, be ready for that chunk to vanish.
Okay, so how much space are we talking here? Well, if you trust the folks over at PlayStation Game Size X (I mean, I do most of the time), they’re saying this remaster is clocking in at 63 point…something GB. Am I remembering that right? Might be off a bit, but close enough. Oh, and there’s gonna be a Day-1 update. Surprise, surprise.
So, if you’re one of those eager beavers who can’t wait, preload starts August 21. And then wait, wait, and wait some more ‘til August 26, 11 a.m. ET sharp. Seriously, it’s like waiting for paint to dry, but then…bam, you’re diving into battle! If you’re game, just toss $39.99 at the PS Store. Easy preorder.
Now, what’s the deal with Marcus Fenix and this whole Locust brawl, coming to PlayStation? The remaster’s got all the bells and whistles: 4K, 120 FPS (yawn), cross-play, cross-progress—if that’s your thing. Oh, and there’s that witchcraft of zero loading in Campaign. Fingers crossed. And the PS5 version isn’t left out. They’ve thrown in some PS5 Pro enhancements too.
Getting all nostalgic here as the 20th anniversary sneaks up in 2026. Man, what a ride. It’s crazy to think of all those stories, fights, and gamer friendships forged. Gears of War: Reloaded is like an open invitation to new players and, well, it feels kinda nice.
Remember those whispers about Gears of War hitting PS5? People sure love spinning rumors. Once, there was talk about a whole collection. First three games all bundled up. But who knows what happened with that? Maybe it’s still lurking out there somewhere. Who knows…
