The game development landscape has seen an exciting shake-up as The Molasses Flood from Boston has seamlessly integrated with Polish gaming titan CD Projekt Red. This significant development was announced on The Molasses Flood’s website, explaining that as of April 1st, it would no longer operate independently. Instead, it’s now part of the powerhouse behind Cyberpunk 2077. Importantly, the teams reassured fans that the beloved titles like The Flame in the Flood and Drake Hollow, created before their acquisition in 2021, remain unaffected. Their current venture, Project Sirius, promises a multiplayer experience set in the fascinating world of The Witcher.
In a parallel announcement, Damian Isla, the founder of Molasses Flood, revealed his decision to depart from the studio. In a heartfelt LinkedIn post, Isla reflected on the transformation. “This represents a significant milestone,” he shared, emphasizing how much of his life has intertwined with TMF over more than a decade. Despite the challenges faced by small studios in a tough market, Isla expressed immense pride in what they accomplished. “We created some beautiful, memorable, and quirky pieces, and I feel fortunate to have collaborated with such talented and generous individuals in the industry,” he added.
